DR. SHELLY SALWEI DVM, DACVR

Dr. Salwei has returned to her Midwestern roots after 14 years of living in the Pacific Northwest.  She was born and raised in the South Dakota, although she spent the majority of her youth in Omaha, Nebraska.  She received her DVM from Kansas State University in 1999.  She completed a year-long rotating small animal medicine and surgery internship with the Sacramento Animal Medical Group in 2000.  She continued working with the group at a local satellite hospital (Greenback Veterinary Hospital) in 2000 and early 2001 until entering a radiology residency at the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine.   She became board certified with the American College of Veterinary Radiologists in 2007.  Since then she has been working in Portland, Oregon for VDIC and IDEXX Telemedicine, with whom she courrently works for as a teleradiologist.

Shelly and her husband, Mark, moved back to the Omaha area in 2017 to be close to family and enjoy the good life in Nebraska.  They have 6 dogs including Border Collies (Tate, Dutch, Geordie, and Tess), a young Doberman, Avery, and a 6-year old Jack Russel/Chihuahua cross named JuJu.  They also have an elderly cat named Roscoe.  Whenever possible, Shelly enjoys training and competing in dog agility and herding with their Border Collies.
